BLESSING WAY
A blessing way is a wonderful alternative to the traditional 'baby shower' that is held for a woman approaching birth. Instead of the focus being on gifts for the baby (which is okay too!), the blessing way ritual is focused on preparing the mother to be centered and ready for childbirth. As a community, you wish the baby a safe and gentle journey into the world and offer the mother support for her own personal journey.
Traditionally a woman invites those people closest to her, whose friendship and wisdom she trusts. You can invite friends to bring a plate of food and/or a gift if you like, but a special ceremony as part of your day is the central feature of a blessing way.
I am happy to assist my clients with FREE ideas on how to run a blessing way. However, if you’d like more help or you’re not an existing client but want assistance to plan a blessing way, then I can do the whole shebang!

BABY NAMING
A naming ceremony is an alternative to a christening or baptism and is a beautiful way to celebrate the birth of your baby and welcome them into the world.
It’s a wonderful opportunity to gather family and friends and declare your intentions to be a loving guide to this special new being.
The ceremony is a chance to get together and acknowledge the great responsibility involved in bringing up a child. During the ceremony grandparents are celebrated and godparents (also called 'mentors' or 'guardians') may be appointed.

I’m able to provide live or recorded music to help create a beautiful atmosphere for the special day. I’m a professional musician and can perform a song of your choosing or provide a small PA to play your favourite recorded music. I also have a great repertoire of easy group songs I can share on the day.
